Poetry Work Shop & Pampering evening

Review of Events

National Poetry day was celebrated at FBCL with a writing workshop On Thursday 2nd October. Allen Ashley, author and poet ran a successful workshop to twelve enthusiastic amateur writers. They wrote on the theme of remembrance, provided dramatic accounts, under the title 'weather', wrote individual pieces to pictures they selected and read out a poem from a poet of their choice. Everyone read out their own work and offered appreciative comments to others poetry. Allen Ashley is also a science fiction writer, and the library is now the owner of two of his excellent science fiction books.

Pampering On Wednesday 1 October
FBCL was full of people enjoying many treats with about twenty people in attendance for the pampering evening  which managed to raise £101 for the library as all the local businesses which provided pampering gave their takings as donations to the library.

We would like to thank the following people: Pop up Shiatsu with Sophie Cox, Recharge Reflexology with Nikki Rice, Samantha from Spires hairdressing & Sarah for her back & shoulder massage & the girls from Glamourpuss Nail Technician Friern Barnet.
